The United States strengthened its position at the centre of the global FinTech market during the first half of 2026, securing half of all recorded transactions as worldwide investment continued to expand.
Global FinTech investment rises 14% year on year
FinTech companies worldwide raised $50.7 billion across 2,505 deals in H1 2026, according to industry data. Total funding increased 14% compared with the $44.6 billion recorded during the same period in 2025.
However, investment was slightly lower than the $51.4 billion raised in H2 2025, representing a 1% decline. Deal activity followed a similar pattern, with transaction volume rising 9% year on year from 2,294 deals but falling 2% from the 2,560 deals recorded in the previous six-month period.
The figures indicate that the FinTech sector remains highly active and has delivered strong annual growth, although the market may be settling at an elevated level rather than entering a new phase of rapid acceleration.
US accounts for 50% of global FinTech transactions
US-based companies completed 1,252 FinTech deals in H1 2026, giving the country a 50% share of all global transactions. This marked a significant increase from the 1,004 deals recorded in H1 2025, when US companies accounted for 44% of worldwide activity.
The number of US deals grew by 25% year on year, allowing the country to widen its lead over other major FinTech markets. The results also point to a growing concentration of global investment in the American ecosystem.
The UK retained second place, with deal activity increasing from 181 transactions in H1 2025 to 187 in H1 2026. Despite the 3% increase in volume, its share of the global market slipped from 8% to 7% as overall activity expanded.
India remained the third-largest market. Deal volume climbed from 86 transactions to 119 over the same period, representing 38% annual growth. Its share also increased modestly, moving from 4% to 5%.
Although the rankings were unchanged, the United States was the clear standout performer. Its rising share of global FinTech deals reflects the continued strength of American investors, startups and technology companies.
Cyera secures one of the largest FinTech funding rounds
Cyera, an AI-focused data security company, raised $600 million in its latest funding round. The transaction ranks among the largest global FinTech deals of the first half of 2026 and values the company at approximately $12 billion.
The investment was led by Evolution Equity Partners, with participation from Cyberstarts and Temasek. Existing investors, including Accel, AT&T Ventures, Blackstone, Coatue and Spark Capital, also joined the round.
The latest financing takes Cyera’s total funding above $2 billion. The company provides a unified platform designed to discover and classify large volumes of enterprise data while supporting access controls, data loss prevention, identity security and behavioural protection.
Cyera says its technology can classify exabytes of data with accuracy above 95%, helping businesses understand and control the data that artificial intelligence agents can access and use.
The company has tripled its annual recurring revenue for three consecutive years and expanded to more than 1,500 employees across 18 countries during the past 18 months. Its acquisitions of Ryft and Genie have added further capabilities for managing and governing AI systems at enterprise scale.
Cyera plans to use the new capital to accelerate expansion among Fortune 1000 companies as demand grows for data protection and AI governance infrastructure.
