Singapore’s FinTech sector recorded a sharp year-on-year rise in investment during the third quarter of 2026, although the headline growth was heavily influenced by one exceptionally large transaction.

Singapore FinTech investment reaches $476.4m

Singaporean FinTech companies raised a combined $476.4m across 10 deals in Q3 2026. The figure represents a 2.5x increase from the $192.8m secured across 16 transactions during the same period in 2025.

The stronger funding performance came despite a decline in deal volume. Compared with Q2 2026, total investment fell 13% from $544.8m, while the number of transactions slipped slightly from 11 to 10.

However, one $400m deal accounted for the majority of the quarter’s funding. Excluding that transaction, the remaining nine deals generated $76.4m, highlighting more moderate underlying activity across the wider market.

  • Singaporean FinTech investment increased 2.5x year-on-year in Q3 2026.
  • Total funding reached $476.4m across 10 transactions.
  • Average deal value rose 3.9x year-on-year to $47.6m.
  • IPID secured $16m in a Series A funding round.

Average FinTech deal value rises to $47.6m

The average Singaporean FinTech deal was valued at $47.6m in Q3 2026. This was almost four times higher than the $12.1m average recorded in Q3 2025.

The average was broadly consistent with Q2 2026, when the figure stood at $49.5m, representing a difference of approximately 4%.

Yet the quarterly average was significantly affected by the $400m transaction. Removing that deal reduces the average across the other nine transactions to $8.5m. This adjusted figure provides a clearer view of typical market activity and is closer to the levels seen a year earlier.

IPID raises $16m to expand payment intelligence platform

IPID, a payment intelligence company that helps financial institutions verify recipients before funds are transferred, completed one of the largest Singaporean FinTech deals of the quarter with a $16m Series A round.

The funding was led by Foundation Capital, with strategic backing from Citi and HSBC. Existing investors QED Investors, Monk’s Hill Ventures and Quona Capital also participated.

IPID provides bank account verification services to major financial institutions in more than 50 countries. Its technology is designed to address a major weakness in digital payments by helping organisations confirm payee identities and evaluate fraud risks before transactions are completed.

Authorised Push Payment fraud is expected to result in global losses of $331bn by 2027, increasing demand for tools that can identify suspicious payments before money leaves an account.

IPID targets growth in the US, Europe and digital assets

Following the latest funding round, IPID plans to expand its presence in the US payments market and digital asset sector. The company is applying its payment intelligence capabilities to fragmented payment networks, emerging transaction rails and new forms of value.

The capital will support the expansion of IPID’s global payment intelligence network, accelerate growth in the US and Europe, and fund the development of new solutions for stablecoins and digital assets.
