The launch of the “T1 Phone” by the Trump Organization’s new mobile service, Trump Mobile, hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing, at least based on one user’s experience.
An author at 404 Media attempted to pre-order the all-gold, “Made in America” Trump Phone to investigate its features, security, and components. The experience quickly turned into a tech support nightmare.
The initial attempt to pay the $100 down payment resulted in a website error, followed by an unexpected charge of $64.70 to the author’s credit card. Adding to the confusion, a confirmation email was received promising a shipping notification, despite the fact that no shipping address had been provided.
“It is the worst experience I’ve ever faced buying a consumer electronic product and I have no idea whether or how I’ll receive the phone,” the author stated.
Donald Trump Jr., EVP of the Trump Organization, touted Trump Mobile in a press release, saying, “Trump Mobile is going to change the game, we’re building on the movement to put America first, and we will deliver the highest levels of quality and service. Our company is based right here in the United States because we know it’s what our customers want and deserve.”
The author’s experience raises questions about the initial rollout of Trump Mobile and the T1 Phone, suggesting potential issues with the ordering process and customer service. Whether these are isolated incidents or indicative of larger problems remains to be seen.
