US Government Registers Websites Linked to Trump Meme Coin Dinner Event

The U.S. government has recently registered several domain names that appear connected to a promotional event for the $TRUMP meme coin, raising eyebrows across the political spectrum.

According to reports, the websites thetrilliondollardinner.gov, dinnerforamerica.gov, and thetrillion.gov were all registered recently. While the sites are currently inactive, their names strongly suggest a link to the promotional dinner event tied to the $TRUMP cryptocurrency.

This event, promoted by the $TRUMP memecoin team, offers the top 220 holders of the cryptocurrency an opportunity to dine with former President Donald Trump, with a VIP tour for the top 25 holders. The Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency confirmed the registrations originated from a request by the Department of Commerce.

The promotion has already sparked controversy, with some Democratic senators calling for an investigation into potential ethics violations. Concerns have been raised about whether offering access to the President in exchange for cryptocurrency investments could be seen as a breach of federal ethics rules.

The initial announcement of the dinner event on trumpmemes.com caused a significant surge in the price of the $TRUMP coin, increasing by approximately 60%. A substantial portion of the cryptocurrency is reportedly owned by entities affiliated with the Trump organization, potentially leading to financial gains for the former President.

It remains unclear what content, if any, will eventually appear on these government-registered websites. The Trump administration previously registered domains like DEI.gov and Waste.gov, with the latter becoming a placeholder page. Currently, DEI.gov redirects to the password-protected Waste.gov.

Whether these new websites will evolve into something meaningful or simply become another set of dormant pages remains to be seen. However, the connection to the Trump meme coin and the associated dinner event ensures ongoing scrutiny.
