Concerns are rising within the online community following reports that a former leader of SiegedSec, a hacking group known for leaking data related to the Project 2025 think tank, may have been targeted by law enforcement.

@mewmrrpmeow, an individual identifying as a former member of the “gay furry hackers” group, posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, claiming that “vio,” the alleged former leader of SiegedSec, was “raided earlier today.” The user stated that “She is no longer accessible, contactable, or reliable.”

Independent journalist Ryan Fae, who has previously covered SiegedSec, corroborated @mewmrrpmeow’s past affiliation with the group but could not independently confirm the alleged raid. Fae noted that a Signal account previously used by “vio” is no longer active.

Maia arson crimew, a hacker known for uncovering the U.S. No Fly list on an unsecured server, also acknowledged @mewmrrpmeow’s prior involvement with SiegedSec, adding to the speculation surrounding the situation.

SiegedSec gained notoriety last year for hacking The Heritage Foundation, the organization behind Project 2025, a controversial conservative agenda. The group disbanded shortly after, citing mental health concerns, publicity stress, and a desire to avoid FBI scrutiny.

The group also claimed responsibility for attacks targeting NATO, Israeli companies, and religious organizations critical of transgender rights.

The Daily Dot reached out to the FBI for comment on the alleged raid but received no confirmation. The agency stated that it “does not have a comment on the matter.”
