Coca-Cola is set to revolutionize vending with its innovative hydrogen-powered machine, debuting at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan on April 13th, 2025. This groundbreaking vending machine eliminates the need for a traditional power outlet, marking a significant step towards sustainable technology.

Developed in collaboration with Fuji Electric, these vending machines utilize replaceable hydrogen cartridges to generate electricity through a chemical reaction. As reported by SoraNews24, this process powers the machine, offering an eco-friendly alternative to conventional models.

While slightly larger due to the integrated generator module, these machines house the hydrogen cartridges where the reaction with oxygen occurs, resulting in stored battery power.

Coca-Cola plans to install 58 of these hydrogen-powered vending machines at the Expo. Each machine will feature an educational display, informing visitors about the benefits and functionality of hydrogen power.

The company has not yet released specific details regarding the lifespan of the hydrogen cartridges. However, the potential for cordless operation opens new possibilities for vending machine placement, provided regular maintenance and restocking remain feasible.
