Tesla is reportedly offering significant discounts across its Cybertruck lineup to boost sales, which have been underwhelming in recent months.

Cybertruck Discounts Soar Amidst Sales Concerns

Recent reports indicate that Tesla has adjusted its production targets for the Cybertruck, its uniquely designed electric pickup. To stimulate demand, the company is now providing substantial discounts to potential buyers in both the US and Canada.

Cybertruck: Surprisingly American-Made, Yet Sales Lag

Despite the Tesla Cybertruck boasting a high percentage (65%) of US and Canadian parts, ranking it among the most American-made vehicles according to the NHTSA, its sales figures haven’t met expectations. First-quarter sales in 2025 hovered around 6,400 units, prompting Tesla to take aggressive measures.

Currently, Tesla is offering discounts of up to $11,990 on its Foundation Series Cybertruck models. To further sweeten the deal, some reports suggest potential free lifetime supercharging for models equipped with the 123 kWh battery pack.

Incentives on Non-Foundation Models

While not as steep as the Foundation Series discounts, non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks still benefit from considerable price reductions, reportedly around $10,550.

However, potential buyers should note that the 2025 Cybertruck no longer qualifies for the full $7,500 federal tax credit for some high-end models like the $102,235 Cyberbeast, as the credit is capped at $80,000.

Hope on the Horizon: A More Affordable Cybertruck

Tesla plans to introduce a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive Cybertruck “Long Range” model soon, with an expected starting price of around $69,990. This lower price point would make it eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit, potentially reducing the final cost to around $62,490.

The Cybertruck Long Range may forego some features, like the power tonneau cover, to achieve this more accessible price.
