Bank of America Data Breach: Customer Data Exposed

Bank of America has disclosed a data breach affecting an undisclosed number of customers after sensitive documents went missing.

The documents, lost in transit, contained personal information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and account numbers related to savings bonds.

In a statement, Bank of America apologized for the incident, stating, “We understand how upsetting this can be and sincerely apologize for this incident and any concerns or inconvenience it may cause. We are notifying you so we can work together to protect your personal and account information.”

The bank is taking measures to protect customers’ data and will notify affected individuals of any suspicious activity. They are also offering a two-year membership to an identity theft protection service.

Bank of America assures customers that they will resolve unauthorized transactions related to the incident if reported promptly.
